Electric Light...First Experience

A memory written by Edna Mae:

"It was at my Grandma Anspach's house that I first saw electric lights, clear bulbs that were so very bright.  They didn't cast soft light but sometimes that fact alone would imprint a vivid picture on my mind.  One evening, during the winter, we were all sitting at Grandma's table when my Aunt Ada came down the stairs in her beautiful scarlet dress.  It was trimmed in the latest fashion of the early 1920's with free swinging fringe of jet glass beads.  Her eyes were lively, sparkling brown and her cheeks glowed in that bright electric light.  And, Oh, how I wished I weren't four and could have a dress just like that one."
